Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 12, 2026

Choo Pass ("the App") is a crowdsourced train crossing tracker. This policy explains what data the App collects, why, and how it is handled. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to make the app work, we do not sell your data, and we do not run ads.

1. Information We Collect

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Analytics

We use PostHog for anonymous usage analytics, including screen views and feature usage. This helps us understand how people use the app and improve the experience. No personally identifiable information is sent to PostHog.

4. Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes purchases through Apple's App Store and stores purchase history associated with an anonymous user identifier. We do not have access to your payment details. Purchase data is handled per Apple's terms. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for more.

5. Data Storage

All data is stored on Supabase (US-based servers). Our API runs on Fly.io (US-based servers). Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We implement row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not serve ads. We do not use third-party tracking beyond PostHog for anonymous analytics. Your data is shared only with the services necessary to operate the app:

7. Data Retention

Crossing reports are retained indefinitely to power historical predictions that all users benefit from. Your account data (saved crossings, email if provided) can be deleted by contacting us at support@choopass.com.

8. Children's Privacy

Choo Pass is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
